About us

Built by practitioners. Powered by community.

Ethics Security is a cybersecurity company in Atlanta, started by Chamon Gayton and C. Watts.

Our story

We’ve sat at the table. Now we’re setting it.

Between the two of us, we’ve built security programs in the military, at Fortune 500 companies, in government cloud and at fast-growing tech companies. FedRAMP, product security, enterprise risk. We’ve done the work.

And everywhere we went, we saw the same thing. The people doing this work rarely get a chance to talk honestly with each other. A lot of times, the only person in the room who looks like you is you. We wanted to change that, so we started bringing people together. Real conversations. Real gatherings. A place where you can learn, meet good people and grow, no matter where you are in your career.

We’re not selling services right now. We’re building community through events, speaking, mentoring, and books that make security make sense.

What guides us

The ethics in Ethics Security.

Look at our logo. It’s a person standing on a strong foundation. That’s how we see security: it starts with people and it rests on trust. And the six letters in our name? They’re how we try to show up every day.

E

Elevate each other

Somebody opened a door for us. We hold it open, share what we know and bring the next person in with us.

T

Trust first

Security is really a promise between people. So we build relationships first and everything else after.

H

Humans first

People are the strongest control you have. We plan around how folks really think and work, not how a policy says they should.

I

Inclusion by design

If you belong in the conversation, you get a seat. That goes double for anyone who’s been the only one in the room.

C

Clarity over jargon

If a board member, a new analyst and a nine-year-old can’t follow what we’re saying, we keep explaining until they can.

S

Service

Military service and years of volunteering taught us this one. We measure success by who we help along the way.

Leadership

Meet the founders.

Chamon is a cybersecurity executive who has protected complex environments in the military, at Fortune 500 companies, and across the public and private sectors. Government cloud security and compliance is her specialty. When teams need help with FedRAMP, DoD or StateRAMP, she’s often the person they call.

She has built GRC programs from the ground up, led big remediation efforts, and run security across AWS, GCP and Azure for platforms worth more than $130 billion. Along the way she held senior roles at PayPal, Zoom for Government, VMware, SailPoint and Schellman.

She sat on the 2025 Advisory Council for SecureWorld Atlanta and was nominated as one of SC Media’s Cybersecurity Women to Watch in 2022. She mentors through the Executive Women’s Forum, WiCyS and ISACA SheLeadsTech, and volunteers with more than nine organizations. She has an MS in Cybersecurity. She also graduated from Berklee College of Music, which surprises people more than anything else on this list.

Digital Trust Instigator · Security Programs, Risk, AI & Compliance · Building Trusted Systems

C. Watts wears a few hats at once. She manages stakeholders like a BISO, cuts risk like a product security leader, and helps teams get things done like a Trust Office.

Her real gift is translation. She takes regulatory, privacy and AI security requirements and turns them into guidance that product and engineering teams can actually use. She has worked across product security, cloud security, risk, governance and executive reporting, with programs built on FedRAMP, GovCloud, SOC 2, ISO/IEC 27001 and NIST SP 800-53.

Her focus is helping big organizations move fast without being reckless. She does that by building trust with the people around the table, so the business can grow and the products people rely on stay safe.
